Washington vs. Oregon Expert Pick and Prediction – November 30, 2024
WASHINGTON VS. OREGON EXPERT PICK AND PREDICTION – November 30, 2024 — Oregon’s got no choice: it’s going to be in the Big Ten title game no matter what. The Ducks are the only unbeaten in the nation at this point, and there’s no way they can fall out of the top two in the league.
The question now is whether the Ducks can clinch the No. 1 overall seed. If Oregon wins its next two games, it will be the Big Ten champion and have the top seed in the playoff. If the Ducks lose this one, they’ll still be in the Big Ten title game, but they’d likely be playing for the No. 2 or No. 3 seed.

And the one thing that Oregon coach Dan Lanning hasn’t done well is beat Washington. The Ducks lost two to the Huskies last year, as Washington ended its season in the national championship game with a loss to Michigan. Oregon, on the other hand, was left to throttle Liberty in a New Year’s Six game.
Now the Huskies have nothing to play for other than trying to ruin Oregon’s undefeated season. They haven’t looked anywhere near the Ducks’ level this year, though, and it’s tough to see that changing. Then again, the same was true of Michigan, and Ohio State just saw its Big Ten title hopes end.

Washington vs. Oregon In-Season Trends
For three straight meetings, the result has been the exact same: Washington wins by three. The Ducks and Huskies have met three times in Lanning’s tenure, and all three have ended with a Washington win by a field goal. However, this might be different for one big reason: the Huskies don’t have Kalen DeBoer coaching them. DeBoer is now at Alabama, and that could change the equation.

Washington’s spread result and game result have matched in every Big Ten game the Huskies have ever played. That might be difficult to maintain in this game, as Oregon has rolled through its league schedule. However, the Ducks have failed to cover the past two games, as they might be feeling the pressure of being the only unbeaten.
Weather
Temperatures could dip into the mid 30s for this one, given the later kickoff time. At least with this game being on the West Coast, a 4 p.m. local start means it’s going to start in the mid 40s before it starts to chill.
The Difference-Makers
Jonah Coleman is going to have to keep the chains moving and keep the clock moving if Washington is going to have a chance. He’s run for over 1,000 yards and is easily the best weapon the Huskies have in this situation.

Stopping Dillon Gabriel and the Oregon offense just has not happened against anyone except Wisconsin. The Ducks were kind of lulled to sleep in that game and coming off some travel issues. They should be back on the same page here.
The Pick
It’s hard to pick against Oregon here, but this spread is too high. Something weird has been happening here in college football, and Oregon has so far been immune. But with the Ducks likely to feel the pressure, this isn’t the time to give this many points, even with the nation’s last unbeaten.
