UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Allen Best Prop Bets

UFC FIGHT NIGHT: HOLLOWAY VS. ALLEN BEST PROP BETS – After an electric PPV card last week, the UFC is taking the show on the road to Kansas City.

In the featherweight division, Max Holloway and Arnold Allen will face off in a pivotal fight for the division.

The winner will likely take on the winner between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez when they unify the belt. This card will be on ESPN. The prelims will start at 5:30 EDT and the main card will begin at 8:30.

Max Holloway is the number two ranked fighter in the division and has lost three times in the last five fights, all to Volkanovski. Holloway fights out of the orthodox stance and will be at a one-inch reach disadvantage.

Arnold Allen is undefeated in the UFC with 10 victories. He is a southpaw fighter and the number four ranked contender in the featherweight division. He has wins over Calvin Kattar and Dan Hooker in his last two fights.

Holloway to Win by Decision +165

This bout will be Arnold Allen’s biggest test yet.

Max Holloway is one of the best featherweight fighters of all time, but, unfortunately for him, Alexander Volkanovski, maybe the best featherweight of all time, is also in his prime.

Holloway beat the current interim title holder, Yair Rodriguez, but could not defeat Volkanovski for the third time. Volkanovski has his number, but he has shown that he is still the second-best in the division. He has not fought since the beginning of July last year, which is unusual for him, but he has proven his worth and is likely being more strategic in whom he fights to earn another title shot.

The Striking

In terms of striking, Allen is the more powerful of the two, but Holloway has one of the best chins in the UFC and is nearly impossible to put away.

Holloway offers significantly more volume and is hard to counter.

He lands 7.24 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 4.89 strikes. Allen lands 3.40 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 2.25 strikes, with a 67% significant strike defense. Allen wrestles more with 1.35 takedowns landed per 15 minutes, but Holloway is skilled at defending takedowns (84% takedown defense).

It will likely remain standing, and Allen must turn it into a brawl and land damaging blows. Holloway will stay on the outside, land strikes on Allen consistently from the beginning of the fight, and take the scorecards.

Over 4.5 Total Rounds -135

Arnold Allen has only been in one five-round fight in the UFC, and it ended in the second round due to a knee injury.

He has fantastic cardio and was finding his stride against Kattar before it abruptly ended.

Holloway can go the distance as he has in his last seven fights against the best featherweights in the world. Cardio should not be an issue, and both men are durable.

A doctor stoppage is the biggest threat to this fight ending before the final bell.

There could be a frenetic pace with lots of volume landed from the start, and either man could get cut in the wrong place in the process. Both men are durable and will want to continue no matter what, but the doctor could see it differently.

Still, this is a solid bet based on the matchup.

Fight to be Won by Unanimous Decision +110

Max Holloway is a technician when standing and is fast while doing it.

He has trouble with Volkanovski because he is quicker than Holloway. Allen is not that fast but is still dangerous. He must make this a scrappy back-and-forth affair to have a chance on the scorecards because he will not out-strike Holloway.

Holloway lands too much volume and must be slowed down early in the fight. Volkanovski did this with a leg kick in his last fight, but Holloway still landed 127 significant strikes and attempted 301.

Allen can land plenty of strikes, but it will prove difficult against Holloway, who has a 59% strike defense. Allen could sneakily win a round, but Holloway should take most of them on all the scorecards with his output.
