Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings — In-Season Stats & Betting Trends
There is no way to sugarcoat it. The Titans are not a good team. They started the season with losses in each of their first three games. After snapping that losing streak with a 31-12 win over the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee has dropped three of its last four games, including a 27-17 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. Will Levis returned from a three-game absence and completed 18 of 23 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns—a solid effort against a Chargers’ defense allowing just 13.1 points per game. Although Tennessee’s defense surrendered 145 yards on the ground, this unit limited Justin Herbert to 164 passing yards. It will be interesting to see if the Titans can duplicate that effort against a Vikings team looking to bounce back from a subpar effort against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
At the other end of the spectrum, after a 5-0 start, the Vikings dropped two of their next three games before posting an ugly 12-7 win over Jacksonville last week. Sam Darnold finished 24 of 38 for 241 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. It is worth noting that Darnold has thrown five interceptions over the last two weeks after throwing just five picks in his first seven starts this season. The Vikings dominated the contest in nearly every statistical category. They outgained the Jaguars in total yards 402-143. Minnesota ran 82 plays compared to just 43 for Jacksonville.
Furthermore, the Vikings won the time-of-possession battle, holding the ball for 42 minutes and 19 seconds. But despite five trips inside the Jaguars’ 20-yard line, the Vikings could muster just three field goals. The game should not have been close, considering Trevor Lawrence was out with a shoulder injury. The good news is that the Vikings will face another AFC South opponent with just two wins on its resume.
Now that we have set the stage for this interconference showdown, let’s examine the betting trends for both sides.
