The NFL season is underway, and with the season in full swing, we are here to help you determine who is good and bad. Teams will fall and rise throughout the season based on injuries, trades, acquisitions, and overall performance. NFL Week 6 Power Rankings
Rank |
Team |
Record |
Thoughts |
1 | Kansas City Chiefs
(previously: 1) |
5-0 | The Chiefs are battling through injuries but still find ways to win games. Rashee Rice is out for the year, and Isiah Pacheco will be back near the end of the regular season. Juju Smith-Schuster stepped up Monday night and caught seven passes for 130 yards. They are on bye this week. |
2 | Minnesota Vikings
(previously: 2) |
5-0 | Sam Darnold and the Vikings took care of business in London against the Jets. Aaron Jones hurt his hip early, which is considered week-to-week. T.J. Hockenson returned to practice on Friday and could play as early as this week after tearing his ACL last season. |
3 | Detroit Lions
(previously: 3) |
3-1 | The Lions were on a bye this week but did not move in the rankings. They play at Dallas this week, and it is fortunate that they get an extra week to prepare. |
4 | Houston Texans
(previously: 6) |
4-1 | C.J. Stroud is helping his team win close games this season. Ka’imi Fairbairn is also helping with eight field goals over 50 yards already this season. They took down the Bills in week five and play the Patriots in Foxborough this week. |
5 | Baltimore Ravens
(previously: 4) |
3-2 | Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry may be impossible to stop. The Ravens are averaging 211.2 rushing yards per game and 29.4 points per game, which are second and first in the league. They have a big game at home against the Commanders next week. |
6 | Buffalo Bills
(previously: 5) |
3-2 | The Bills are fourth in the league with a +36 point differential but have two losses. They have lost back-to-back road games to the Ravens and Texans and have only beaten teams with a losing record. They play another road game against the Jets next week. |
7 | Washington Commanders
(previously: 8) |
4-1 | Jayden Daniels and the Commanders have rattled off four consecutive games after losing their opener to the Buccaneers. They are third in the league with a +40 point differential. They play the Ravens in Baltimore next week, which will be a major test for Daniels. |
8 | Green Bay Packers
(previously: 12) |
3-2 | Jordan Love is averaging 291 passing yards per game, which is second in the league. The Packers did well in winning two games without him this season. They play the Cardinals at home next week and will need points to beat the Cardinals’ offense. |
9 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(previously: 7) |
3-2 | The Buccaneers were up three until the last second of the fourth quarter when Younghoe Koo kicked the tying field goal. The Falcons scored in overtime and completed the comeback. They have a divisional game in New Orleans this week. |
10 | Dallas Cowboys
(previously: 13) |
3-2 | Dak Prescott has led his team to two consecutive road wins after starting 1-2. They are second to last in the league with 82 rushing yards per game but found some success with Rico Dowdle on Sunday night. He had 20 carries for 87 yards and is taking over this backfield. |
11 | Atlanta Falcons
(previously: 17) |
3-2 | The Falcons have stolen two wins with back-to-back comeback victories over divisional opponents. They have a third consecutive divisional game at Carolina this week, which could help them extend their lead in the NFC South. |
12 | Pittsburgh Steelers
(previously: 9) |
3-2 | After starting 3-0, the Steelers have lost back-to-back games by three points in each. Russell Wilson is healthy now, and there could be some quarterback controversy in Pittsburgh. Justin Fields has not been bad this season, but back-to-back losses are not ideal. |
13 | Seattle Seahawks
(previously: 11) |
3-2 | The Seahawks are still atop the NFC West but have lost back-to-back games against the Lions and Giants. It could be three in a row if they cannot win on the road against the 49ers this week on Thursday. |
14 | San Francisco 49ers
(previously: 10) |
2-3 | This is not the start to the season Kyle Shanahan envisioned. They are 2-3 with losses to the Vikings, Rams, and Cardinals. They have been plagued by injuries and it is not getting any better. They have a short week to recover as they play Seattle at home on Thursday. |
15 | Chicago Bears
(previously: 19) |
3-2 | The Bears are starting to turn the corner after scoring 60 combined points in the past two weeks. Caleb Williams has had two 300-yard passing games this season and is getting better by the week. |
16 | Philadelphia Eagles
(previously: 14) |
2-2 | The Eagles are coming off a bye week after starting the season 2-2. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith should return from injury this week, which will help their offense. Their defense needs to play better, but I am not worried about them. |
17 | Denver Broncos
(previously: 20) |
3-2 | Bo Nix has improved immensely after losing the first two games of the season. The defense allows 14.6 points per game, tied for the second-lowest this season. They allow 159.8 passing yards per game and are carrying this team. |
18 | New York Jets
(previously: 16) |
2-3 | Robert Saleh is out as head coach after a 2-3 start. He was escorted out of the facility, which makes it seem messy. We will see how the team moves forward, but it smells like a bad situation. |
19 | New Orleans Saints
(previously: 15) |
2-3 | The Saints have the second-best point differential (+44) but are 2-3. They blew out their first two opponents, but have dropped three straight to the Eagles, Falcons, and Chiefs. They play the Buccaneers at home this week. |
20 | Arizona Cardinals
(previously: 21) |
2-3 | The Cardinals got a huge victory on the road over the 49ers in week five. They scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and won 24-23 after holding the 49ers scoreless in the second half. This team is in the thick of the division race. |
21 | Los Angeles Chargers
(previously: 18) |
2-2 | Justin Herbert needed this bye week more than anyone. He is dealing with an ankle injury that he was playing through and should be recovered. They play the Broncos on the road this week. |
22 | Indianapolis Colts
(previously: 22) |
2-3 | Joe Flacco could come away with a victory over the Jaguars this week. He threw for 359 yards and three TDs, but the defense could not stop the Jaguars’ offense. Anthony Richardson may return this week against the Titans. |
23 | Cincinnati Bengals
(previously: 23) |
1-4 | Joe Burrow and the Bengals are in a bad spot after starting 1-4. They have been in extremely close games with the Chiefs and Ravens but could not get the win. They have a -5-point differential, which exemplifies how close their games have been. |
24 | New York Giants
(previously: 27) |
2-3 | The Giants’ rookies have been impressive this season. Tyrone Tracy filled in for Devin Singletary and ran for 129 yards in their win over the Seahawks. They play the Bengals this week on Sunday Night Football. |
25 | Las Vegas Raiders
(previously: 24) |
2-3 | Gardner Minshew was benched in favor of Aiden O’Connell against the Broncos. Davante Adams has requested a trade and likely played his last game in a Raiders jersey. |
26 | Los Angeles Rams
(previously: 25) |
1-4 | The Rams are depleted right now and cannot compete with anyone. They will be on bye this week, which they desperately need. |
27 | Tennessee Titans
(previously: 28) |
1-3 | The bye week may have helped Will Levis get on the page with his receivers. They play the Colts at home this week, who just got torched by the Jaguars. |
28 | Miami Dolphins
(previously: 29) |
2-3 | The Dolphins’ offense is atrocious without Tua Tagovailoa. They barely beat the Patriots, and the playoffs are looking out of reach. |
29 | Cleveland Browns
(previously: 26) |
1-4 | Jameis Winston’s time may be coming in Cleveland. Deshaun Watson has struggled, but head coach Kevin Stefanski refuses to move off of him. |
30 | Jacksonville Jaguars
(previously: 32) |
1-4 | The Jaguars scored 37 points, but their defense allowed 34 points to an offense missing Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor. They have back-to-back games in London against the Bears and Patriots upcoming. |
31 | New England Patriots
(previously: 30) |
1-4 | Drake Maye will start for the Patriots against the Texans next week. They have averaged 12.4 points per game this season, which is the second-worst in the league. Maye will be tested in his debut against the Texans, who average three sacks per game. |
32 | Carolina Panthers
(previously: 31) |
1-4 | It does not matter who is playing quarterback for this team. They are not good and will only have a chance to win against bad teams. |
