NFL Week 10 Power Rankings
Rank |
Team |
Record |
Thoughts |
1 | Detroit Lions
(previously: 2) |
9-1 | The Lions are undoubtedly the best team in the league right now. They beat the Jaguars 52-6, which is how a juggernaut should perform against the lowly Jags. Jared Goff is third on DraftKings at +600 to win MVP and is well-deserved. |
2 | Buffalo Bills
(previously: 3) |
9-2 | The Bills made a statement with a win against the Chiefs and have a bye this week to rest. They have the 49ers, Rams, and Lions left before they end the season with two games against the Patriots, with the Jets in between. |
3 | Kansas City Chiefs
(previously: 1) |
9-1 | Patrick Mahomes’ interceptions finally cost them a game. They still had a chance to win the game, but the Bills were too good to play catch-up. They still own the top seed in the AFC but end the season with the Texans, Steelers, and Broncos. |
4 | Philadelphia Eagles
(previously: 7) |
8-2 | The Eagles are on a six-game winning streak after starting the season 2-2. The offense is one of the best in the league, and the defense is improving weekly. Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean are improving weekly and are to blame for the defense’s improvement. |
5 | Pittsburgh Steelers
(previously: 9) |
8-2 | The Steelers’ defense stepped up this week and held the Ravens to 16 points. Russell Wilson did not play his best game, but the Steelers won the game. With games against the Eagles, Ravens, and Chiefs remaining, the AFC North is theirs to lose. |
6 | Minnesota Vikings
(previously: 8) |
8-2 | This team is flying under the radar after starting the season 5-0. They have a 95% chance of making the playoffs. They could be a dangerous team if Sam Darnold gains momentum heading into the playoffs. |
7 | Baltimore Ravens
(previously: 4) |
7-4 | Lamar Jackson’s biggest weakness is the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is 4-1 with a passer rating of 66.2 against them. They have one game remaining against them but must face the Chargers and Eagles in the next two weeks. |
8 | Green Bay Packers
(previously: 6) |
7-3 | The Packers won last week by blocking a game-winning field goal attempt. Jordan Love is not playing his best right now and needs to heat up like he did at the end of last season. |
9 | Los Angeles Chargers
(previously: 13) |
7-3 | The Chargers allow 14.5 points per game, the best in the league. They have a 95% chance of making the playoffs and are not a team I want to face. They play the Ravens on Monday night, which will be a big test for their defense. |
10 | Washington Commanders
(previously: 5) |
7-4 | The Commanders have dropped two straight games to the Steelers and Eagles but were competitive in each. The future looks bright for this team, and they have an easier stretch coming up. They play the Cowboys, Titans, and Saints over the next three games with a bye in week 14. |
11 | Arizona Cardinals
(previously: 14) |
6-4 | The Cardinals have a one-game lead in the division coming off their bye week. They have four divisional games remaining and will travel to Seattle this week. They have a 65% chance to make the playoffs and a 60% chance to win the division. |
12 | Denver Broncos
(previously: 15) |
6-5 | Bo Nix looks like the future of this franchise. They allow the third-fewest points per game (16.6). They have a 51% chance to make the playoffs and finish the season with a favorable schedule. |
13 | Houston Texans
(previously: 10) |
7-4 | Nico Collins should help C.J. Stroud get right in their remaining games. This team is good, but could be great if Stroud plays better. Games against the Titans, Jaguars, and Dolphins could be the spot to gain momentum for the rest of the season. |
14 | Seattle Seahawks
(previously: 19) |
5-5 | With three minutes remaining, the Seahawks had a 9.7% chance to win the game and won on Geno Smith’s legs. He ran for 29 yards on the final drive and scored from 13 yards out to give them a three-point lead. That could be the turning point for the Seahawks, who have a 14% chance to make the playoffs. |
15 | San Francisco 49ers
(previously: 12) |
5-5 | The 49ers still have a 27% chance of making the playoffs, but the loss to Seattle was devastating. They needed that win before traveling to Green Bay and Buffalo for the next two weeks. Their playoff hopes are dwindling for a team with high expectations. |
16 | Atlanta Falcons
(previously: 11) |
6-5 | The Falcons looked awful on both sides of the ball against the Broncos. They allowed 38 points and scored six points. They are barely hanging onto the NFC South. |
17 | Los Angeles Rams
(previously: 16) |
5-5 | Jared Verse and Braden Fiske were great selections in the draft. Their first two picks have combined for 9.5 sacks and look to be valuable players for years. |
18 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(previously: 18) |
4-6 | The Falcons are leaving the door cracked for the NFC South. Mike Evans likely returns this week, which should help the offense immensely. He only has 335 receiving yards this season and is in real jeopardy of snapping his 1,000-yard season streak. |
19 | Indianapolis Colts
(previously: 22) |
5-6 | The Colts have a 33% chance of making the playoffs but have a matchup with the Lions this week. Anthony Richardson looked much better after getting benched and hopefully keeps it going. |
20 | Miami Dolphins
(previously: 23) |
4-6 | The Dolphins have a 15% chance to make the playoffs, according to ESPN. They have a favorable schedule to end the season but must play the Packers and Texans on the road. |
21 | Cincinnati Bengals
(previously: 17) |
4-7 | Ja’Marr Chase has every right to criticize Evan McPherson. He has made 71.4% of field goals this season, which is bottom-five in the league. Their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread, but I would not want to face this dangerous offense. |
22 | Chicago Bears
(previously: 20) |
4-6 | Caleb Williams played better against the Packers, but they lost after the Packers blocked their game-winning field goal attempt. They have a tough stretch to end the season, playing the Lions and Vikings twice. |
23 | New Orleans Saints
(previously: 30) |
4-7 | Taysom Hill had 188 total yards and three TDs against the Browns. Darren Rizzi moved to 2-0 as interim head coach, and they have a chance at the playoffs. The 6-5 Falcons lead this division, which is not out of reach with six games remaining. |
24 | New England Patriots
(previously: 31) |
3-8 | Drake Maye is getting valuable playing time right now, and the team is playing hard. Unfortunately, they are not good enough to win games, but it may be a good thing. They need to get Maye some weapons for the future. |
25 | New York Jets
(previously: 21) |
3-8 | I am done pretending this team is good. I would fade this team for the rest of the season because they are overhyped. They are 3-8 against the spread. Oddsmakers know people will bet on them, so they set unrealistic lines. |
26 | Dallas Cowboys
(previously: 24) |
3-7 | The Cowboys are in a sad place. Cooper Rush can only do so much when the defense allows 34 points. There are a lot more questions than answers in Dallas right now. |
27 | Cleveland Browns
(previously: 25) |
2-8 | Jameis Winston and the offense did not turn the ball over and still lost 35-14. The defense is not doing their part. It is hard to believe this team made the playoffs last season. |
28 | Carolina Panthers
(previously: 32) |
3-7 | The Panthers had a bye last week but play the Chiefs this week. Jonathan Brooks likely makes his debut this week, so they will see their second-round selection in action. |
29 | Tennessee Titans
(previously: 28) |
2-8 | Will Levis and the offense are gaining momentum but cannot score enough points to compete. Levis is learning and improving weekly, which is a good sign for next season. |
30 | Las Vegas Raiders
(previously: 29) |
2-8 | Brock Bowers had 13 receptions against the Dolphins, a record for rookie tight ends. They need to build around him and Maxx Crosby moving forward. |
31 | Jacksonville Jaguars
(previously: 26) |
2-9 | The Jaguars are awful. They lost 52-6 to the Lions, and there were rumors Doug Pederson’s job was on the line coming into this game. |
32 | New York Giants
(previously: 27) |
2-8 | Daniel Jones finally got benched and has been a long time coming. Tommy DeVito will be the quarterback, which is not much better. This team cannot seem to make good decisions, but this may be the first in a while. |
