NCAA Men’s Final Four Best Player Props
NCCA MEN’S FINAL FOUR BEST PLAYER PROPS –Â The Final Four is here, which means college basketball is nearing an end. That does not mean we cannot still make some profit on this final handful of games.
These teams are playing their best basketball of the season, and player props are a perfect spot to target if you do not have a conviction on the total or spread. I will give you a few from the men’s side that I like heading into the weekend. Also, check out the Godzilla Wins Daily Staff Picks page for other best picks!
Braden Smith Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists -115
Purdue’s best player has been Zach Edey, but Braden Smith is a closer second than many may realize. Smith may have even been the best player in the Gonzaga game. He finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, and 15 assists.
Edey had a tough defensive matchup against Graham Ike in that game, and he could face another tough one in D.J. Burns Jr. Edey should also draw lots of double teams in this matchup because Burns does not move his feet well defensively, and, more importantly, Edey is a dominant force.
Smith should have plenty of open lanes to drive and open shooters to dish it to once Edey passes out of the double. He will have an impact on this game, as always.
DJ Horne Over 16.5 Points -105
D.J. Burns Jr. has been the go-to guy for the Wolfpack throughout this tournament, but he may have his hands filled with Edey. Edey has typically gotten his defender in foul trouble this season, and it will probably happen in this game, too. DJ Horne will have to pick up the slack if Burns spends more time on the bench than usual and will have to score more in general if they want to beat this Purdue team.
He is averaging 16.5 points through four games this tournament, which, no surprise, is the exact number of his points total. Purdue tends to force teams to take more threes per game because Edey is a big obstacle in the paint. Horne shot 40.9% from three this season and is shooting 40% in the tournament. He will have to impact this game with his scoring, especially if Burns gets in foul trouble.
Grant Nelson Over 0.5 Threes -130
Nate Oats is one of the best offensive-minded coaches in the nation. He saw what happened last week when Illinois tried to go at Donovan Clingan and will likely adjust. Alabama loves to shoot threes or get to the rim for high-percentage shots.
When they played Purdue and Arizona earlier in the season, they shot over 40 threes in each game. Both of those teams have a big man that is a rim protector.
Clingan may force them to take a lot of threes in this matchup, and Grant Nelson may be the beneficiary. He has only made two threes thus far in the tournament, but I expect Alabama to spread the floor and find open shooters.
Nelson shot 29.7% from three this season but is shooting 40% on five attempts in the tournament. He only needs to make one to cash this slip and should be dialed in like he was against North Carolina when he dropped 24 points.
