Navy: Three Yards And An Irish Potato

John Fredericks College Football Line ATS 2023: 0-0

Navy (+21) Vs. Notre Dame – Game in Dublin

The Midshipmen are returning a ton of offensive players (8) and their new coach Brian Newberry was their DL coach the last several seasons, so no real culture change is underway. Navy is going to do what they do: run the ball, chew up clock, go for 4ths and short, eat up more clock, kick a field goal.

The Navy defense was not the problem last season. Newberry is returning nine defensive starters from last season, where Navy had a very young team, along with 43 letterman. This is an emerging Navy football team that is matured and hungry.

Ireland is weird! Northwestern won their only game their last season.

Meanwhile, the Irish have lost three starters on their D-Line trying to go against Navy’s three returning O-line starters. Notre Dame is also breaking in a new QB in Sam Hartman.

Navy doesn’t throw the ball so their QB is irrelevant.

The Irish are 9-39 ATS when they allow over 200 yards on the ground since 1992. So if you can run the football against the ND legacy defensive schemes, you are going to be in the game.

This is going to be a grind for Coach Marcus Freeman and he’ll be happy on get on the plane with a tough game W.

No blow-out in the cards here. Take the wood.

Pick 1: Navy (+12.5) first half

Pick2 : Navy (+21) game
