Nashville SC v St. Louis City SC: MLS Predictions
NASHVILLE SC V ST. LOUIS CITY SC: MLS PREDICTIONS – Nashville SC (2nd Eastern Conf.) vs St. Louis City SC (1st Western Conf.). The home side in this battle of relative MLS newcomers, Nashville are currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak. And if they avoid a loss this weekend, they will set a new club record for the longest unbeaten run in club history.
Tonight’s fixture at Geodis Park is also a hugely historic one, as it marks the Tennessee side’s maiden MLS clash with current Western Conference leaders St. Louis City.
For their part, St. Louis are having an excellent season thus far. And although they haven’t won in their previous two MLS matches, they are still leading the standings in goals this season and averaging 2.06 goals per game.
NASHVILLE SC
Nashville have nine wins, five draws, and three losses, and they find themselves in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are currently on an amazing run, and have an opportunity to make club history. They extended their unbeaten run last weekend away against Toronto FC in a 1-1 draw thanks to a 69th minute goal by Randall Leal.
Not seeing Hany Mukhtar on the scoresheet was a shocker, but getting other players on the scoresheet is of huge importance for Nashville too. That said, they already have a sound defense, with a league-low 12 goals conceded.
However they will be without Walker Zimmerman due to his international duty in the CONCACAF Nations League. It also needs to be noted that during this nine-game unbeaten streak, Nashville have conceded at least once in eight of those games.
They’ll need to step it up if they want to keep the MLS’ top scorers at bay.
Team News
Nashville will be without Nick DePuy for the game against St. Louis, while star defender Walker Zimmerman remains out due to international duty.
USA MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER – EASTERN CONF. STANDINGS
ST. LOUIS CITY SC
St. Louis are currently on a two-game winless streak, after letting a precious lead slip in their 1-1 tie against LA Galaxy last weekend. They have never gone winless in three consecutive domestic matches, but that distinction could be in jeopardy tonight.
Alarmingly, St. Louis are also winless in five consecutive road fixtures across all competitions, losing their previous three. That’s hardly a surprise, considering their previous four MLS away games have only yielded a solitary goal.
However, the Missouri side boasts two games in hand. Unpredictability has been a byword for St. Louis of late, with lopsided wins nestling alongside poor results against bottom-half teams. This will be an interesting test for them.
Team News
St. Louis will be without Joakim Nilsson and Njabulo Blom for the game against Nashville.

PROP BETS
| Nashville SC to Win & Over 2.5 Goals (+130) |
With players like Nicolas Gioacchini, Eduard Lowen, and Jared Stroud, St. Louis City are a solid lock to score. This is especially true against a Nashville side that has conceded in nine of their previous ten matches. Nashville should outscore their visitors though, so this seems like a huge opportunity.
| Both Teams to Score (-140) |
Both teams have found the back of the net in nine of Nashville’s last ten games. Nashville will also field the MLS’ current joint-top scorer, Hany Mukhtar. Just as he was a fortnight ago before facing Dallas, the German is a red-hot tip to strike.
Meanwhile, St. Louis are leading the MLS in goals scored and average goals per game this season. Need I say more?

Nashville SC v St. Louis City SC – THE WORD
An excellent game should ensue between two sides that have been absolutely fantastic so far this season. However, neither is perfect, with Nashville conceding in six consecutive games. Meanwhile, three of St. Louis’ five losses so far have come in away fixtures.
Additionally, all five of St. Louis’ regular season defeats have come when conceding the opening goal, with the Missouri side also firing a blank four times.
Considering Nashville’s home field advantage, they should sneak a narrow win. If Nashville can come out strong and get the first goal, it should set the tone for the remainder of the game.
