1

Philadelphia Phillies

(previously: 2)

51-26 The best record in the league belongs to the Phillies by 0.5 games. They have the highest run differential (+114) and the lowest ERA (3.09). Trea Turner is also batting .304 since he returned in mid-June.
2 New York Yankees

(previously: 1)

52-28 The Yankees have now dropped three series in a row to the Red Sox, Orioles, and Braves. They still have a top record in the league but must win more games against other top-tier teams.
3 Baltimore Orioles

(previously: 3)

49-28 The Orioles are a young, talented team. They just got swept by Houston at the end of a road trip, or they may have been higher on the list. They are only 1.5 games back of the Yankees in the AL East.
4 Cleveland Guardians

(previously: 5)

49-26 The Guardians are excellent this season, and we will find out how good they are when they go to Baltimore to start the week. Pitching will be key for them, which is a bright spot for them.
5 Los Angeles Dodgers

(previously: 4)

48-31 Shohei Ohtani has homered in three consecutive games and has six in his last seven games. He is batting .321 this season with 23 home runs and 57 RBIs.
6 Milwaukee Brewers

(previously: 6)

45-33 St. Louis is starting to narrow the gap in the NL Central, but the Brewers still have a comfortable five-game lead. Their All-Star closer, Devin Williams, has a mound session scheduled for Wednesday, which is good news.
7 Seattle Mariners

(previously: 7)

45-35 They still have a six-game lead in the division but dropped two out of three to the Marlins. The Mariners have the third-worst batting average in the league, which is cause for concern with the Astros closing the gap.
8 Atlanta Braves

(previously: 9)

43-32 It would not be insane to see the Braves higher on the list after winning eight of their last 10. They are a dangerous team and are starting to hit more long balls.
9 Boston Red Sox

(previously: 11)

42-36 If the season ended today, the Red Sox would have crushed every expectation out of the park. They were written off before the season but are in the top six in batting average and ERA.
10 Minnesota Twins

(previously: 10)

43-35 It is hard to talk about the Twins without mentioning Royce Lewis. He has only played 18 games this season and has 10 home runs with a .348 average.
11 Kansas City Royals

(previously: 8)

42-37 The month of June has been tough for the Royals. They have lost four series in a row and are nine games back of the Guardians in the AL Central.
12 San Diego Padres

(previously: 12)

41-41 Fernando Tatis Jr. has not played since Friday after getting hit by a pitch. The injuries have been mounting for the Padres, but they are still not a team to take lightly.
13 St. Louis Cardinals

(previously: 13)

39-37 Alec Burleson is turning into the best hitter on this team. He is hitting .285 with 12 home runs. Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt are having awful seasons relative to their previous level, but others have stepped up to keep this team above .500.
14 Arizona Diamondbacks

(previously: 17)

38-40 The Diamondbacks do not have the best pitching in the league, but they have a couple of guys who can change the game themselves. Ketel Marte has a 3.8 WAR with 15 home runs.
15 Texas Rangers

(previously: 19)

37-40 Max Scherzer threw five innings on Sunday and only allowed one hit with four strikeouts. He only threw 57 pitches but looked great for a 39-year-old returning from injury.
16 Houston Astros

(previously: 22)

38-40 The Astros have a legitimate chance to win the division. They have been up and down all season but are grinding their way back into the mix. They own the league’s best batting average (.262) and are a dangerous team.
17 Washington Nationals

(previously: 20)

38-39 The Nationals continue to fly under the radar. They are only 0.5 games back in the wild card and always get overlooked.
18 Tampa Bay Rays

(previously: 24)

38-40 Yandy Diaz is batting .341 in June and has a 16-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they have a -62 run differential and play in the toughest division in baseball.
19 New York Mets

(previously: 25)

37-39 The Mets cannot make up their minds. When you think they are on their way to rock bottom on a sinking ship, they win eight of their last 10 and are only two games below .500.
20 Pittsburgh Pirates

(previously: 23)

37-40 Paul Skenes is the real deal. He has 61 strikeouts in 46.1 innings pitched with a 2.14 ERA. The Pirates have struggled to hit the ball this season but are still in the playoff mix.
21 San Francisco Giants

(previously: 15)

36-42 The Giants must win this series against the Cubs this week or they might be in serious trouble. They have lost five in a row and will go through the gauntlet of the Dodgers, Braves, and Guardians after the Cubs.
22 Chicago Cubs

(previously: 21)

37-41 The Cubs may be the biggest underperformers this year. They brought in so many big names but still struggled to win games.
23 Cincinnati Reds

(previously: 16)

36-41 The theme for the Reds this season has been inconsistency. They are 19-21 at home and five games below .500. They somehow have a +9 run differential.
24 Toronto Blue Jays

(previously: 14)

35-42 The Blue Jays are 2-8 in their last 10 games and have dropped six consecutively. They play the Red Sox and Yankees this week, so it does not look like many wins are ahead.
25 Detroit Tigers

(previously: 18)

36-41 Playoffs may be out of reach for the Tigers and make them sellers at the deadline.
26 Los Angeles Angels

(previously: 26)

30-46 Luis Rengifo is batting .306 with 20 stolen bases. The Angels have a few young players playing some solid baseball, but not much else is happening with the Angels.
27 Oakland Athletics

(previously: 28)

29-51 The A’s have the second-worst road record this season at 11-28.
28 Colorado Rockies

(previously: 27)

27-51 The Rockies have the second-worst run differential (-124) and allowed the most runs this season by 53 runs.
29 Miami Marlins

(previously: 29)

27-50 Better watch out! The Marlins have won two series in a row.
30 Chicago White Sox

(previously: 30)

21-58 Another week, another road record update for the White Sox: 8-33.
