College Hoops
Washington State (+6.5) Vs. Iowa State
I love the Cyclones and I view the Big 12 as the toughest conference in college basketball. But this is going to be a very tight game.
The Cougars come out of the PAC-12, which comes into this game 5-0 in tourney play ATS (Against The Spread). Not too shabby.
Washington State, like Colorado, is on no one’s radar screen. Yet they’re 15-4 in their last 19 games, including 2-0 vs. Arizona, winning home and away.

The Cyclones are unbeatable at home this season, going undefeated. On the road, not so much. They are 12-16 away from their gym since mid-January.
The Cougars are big. They start four players who are 6’8″ or taller. Here’s the rub: Iowa State is in the bottom stats on rebounding. Yikes. This is why I like Washington State here.
Washington State can win this whole game. Take the points.
Pick: Washington State (+6.5)
NHL
Jets (-135) at Islanders
The Islanders have dropped four straight and look like they packed their season in. Winnipeg is on a mission to prove they belong in the Stanley Cup winner narrative. All this team does is win. I’m fading Long Island here.
Pick: Jets (-135)
Ottawa at New Jersey (-155)
I just can’t bet the Senators on the road, and they’ve dropped three straight. New Jersey is at home on playoff life support. The Devils trounced the Senators in Ottawa earlier this season 6-2. What’s changed?
Pick: Jersey (-155)
Tampa Bay (+125) at Kings
The Lightning are on fire, winners of five straight while averaging over five goals a game. Why not ride them as a dog? The Kings are good at home, but not unbeatable at 16-11-7.
Lightning (+125)
Florida (+105) at NY Rangers
No NHL team has more road wins this season than Florida. That’s the good news. The bad news they’ve dropped three in a row, all against playoff teams. Not a good sign. I feel their focus will be on stage tonight at the Garden. If you want to compete with the big boys of the NHL, you have to beat the big boys on the road.
Florida is 2-0 against the Rangers this season. This is a hockey hunch play that the Panthers turn it around tonight. Metrics say Rangers. Gut says Panthers.
