NHL

Islanders (-110) at Detroit

I’m done with the Red Wings now.

Both teams are fighting for their life. The Wings coughed up seven straight, then won two of three. Now, Detroit is back to losing again. They won over Columbus last time out with a goal with 12 seconds on the clock to tie, then got the W in OT.

The Islanders are playing like crap and sport a five-game losing streak. They have to win this game on the road to remain playoff relevant.

How bad are they? Not as bad as Detroit.

Pick: Islanders (-110)

College Hoops

Texas (-2.5) Vs. Colorado State

Texas comes out of the Big 12 Conference, which was undoubtedly the toughest conference in all of college basketball in 2023-24.

The Longhorns are a seasoned veteran NCAA tourney team, returning four starters from last year’s squad who made it to the Elite Eight.

The Rams went 10-8 overall in the little sisters’ weak Mountain West Conference — which is patty-cake compared to playing Big 12 Power 5 basketball! I’m betting a veteran team in a tough conference who has been there, done that. Hook ’em Horns!

Pick: Texas (-2.5)
