Johnny’s Quick Picks

December 20 2023

The Predators stunk up the Nashville arena last night. The good news: we were finally 2-0 in college hoops – lets go for a fiver!

College Hoops

North Dakota (+18.5) at Nebraska

North Dakota who? Over Nebraska? What? NDU is 8-4 and has scored over 70 points each of their last three games. 18.5 points is too much.

The Huskers had big closeout wins over K-State and Michigan State, and this is a key let down game. Take the points and If NDU can drain some three-balls this is a solid play.

Pick: North Dakota (+18.5)

Duke (-2.5) Vs. Baylor in New York at MSG

The Dukies are rolling and Baylor just got blown out Saturday by Tom Izzo’s Spartan bunch. Michigan State put up 88 against the Baylor defense, much of it coming from inside the perimeter. Is Baylor who we think they are? I don’t know. Is Duke? Yes. Consistency is the name of the game.

Pick: Duke (-2.5)

Northwestern (-3.5) Vs. Arizona State

It’s a neutral site, but Phoenix is Phoenix. The Wildcats cracked the Purdue code last week. Arizona scored 59 points against TCU and got smoked by 20. See ya! This is Big 10 basketball.

Pick: Northwestern (-3.5)
