Bucs at O’s (Even)
How many games can Pittsburgh lose in a row? The have coughed up six now and have dropped 13 of 14. Oh my. In Baltimore, the Birdies are only three games back of Tampa in the A.L. East. Let that sink in. I said from the before the season started the Orioles are a contender.
Pick: Baltimore (Even)
Cubs (+120) over Twinkies
I’m going with Marcus Stroman to stop the Cubs’ bleeding in Minnesota. The Cub’s 5’7” starter has had a run on bad luck, as he’s pitched great baseball this season. Cubs are a .500 team, so are the Twins, so we will for the split here.
Pick: Cubs (+120)
Astros (-135) at Chi-Sox
When will Houston start hitting? Is Joes Abreu done? What about Raphael Montero imploding three times in a row? Lots of questions, but I’m going with rookie phenom Hunter Brown today to get the win for the beleaguered Spacemen. The bottom line is this: the White Sox really are a pathetic team.
Pick: Houston (-135)
Royals at Brewers (-160)
The Royals starter Jordan Lyles is 0-6 with a 6.20 ERA this season for a reason. Fade him until he wins a game.
Pick: Brewers (-160)
Padres at Dodgers (-180)
I love betting against San Diego when they start losing every day! I’m riding the blue train all the way to the N.L. Western crown. The Dodgers are going to sweep the Padres at home then laugh their asses off…again.
Pick: Dodgers (-180)
Cards (-115) at Boston
Why is St. Louis favored in Boston going against Corey Kluber for a three game sweep on the road? Don’t you find this odd?
Maybe this is the Cardinals turnaround game?
Boston had swept Toronto, took two of three from the Phillies and was playing well at home.
They lose Friday night, then their closer Jansen blew up in the ninth yesterday, coughing up a save while allowing three runs.
Miles Mikolas went six innings and allowed four hits and no runs against the Giants in his last start. He’s pitched better of late, allowing three runs or less in his last three starts.
Boston’s Corey Kluber has given up a long-ball in each of his last seven starts and gives up a hit per inning. He may be on his last legs?
This line doesn’t feel right to me. Something here is off. It all points to St. Louis. I’ve bet baseball my whole adult life. I have to go with my instincts.
