JOHN FREDERICKS: MLB MONEYLINE WAGERS FOR SATURDAY, JULY 1 2023 – We lost -$25 yesterday with a lot of action, but the Padres bitter loss, after blowing three leads, all with two outs was a tough pill to swallow. That’s in the rear view mirror. Let’s get some winners today!

Marlins at Atlanta (-170)

I’m going the with hottest team in baseball: the Braves. Uncle Charlie is still beating good teams and while the Marlins have been playing really good baseball, but this Atlanta team is now favored to get back to the World Series.

Pick: Atlanta (-170)

Yankees (+130) at Cards – Game 1

St. Louis is another loser dumpster fire in 2023. Their pitching has been atrocious and the Yankees are coming to life without Judge. This Cards team is about to be a major seller on the trade deadline as they have to restock a depleted farm system. The Cardinals have been contenders year after year but now age has caught up with them.

Pick: Yankees (+130) Game 1

Astros (+125) at Texas

Why not go with Houston again? Hunter Brown is on again, off again but Houston looked really sharp last night in a playoff atmosphere. All the pressure is on Texas at home in this series to take three of four.

The Astros won last night in vintage Houston style: five innings from a starter and a lights out bull-pen. Rinse, wash, repeat.

You say why Houston? I say at +$125, why not?

Pick: Houston (+125)

White Sox (-1.5 Runs, -125)

Dylan Cease is a beast, and he’s back in form after a rough May. This game has shutout written all over it, the A’s won last night and as pathetic as Chicago has looked, they are still only five games back in the A.L. Central.

Pick: White Sox (-1.5 Runs, -125)

Padres at Reds (+1.5 Runs, EVEN)

This Reds team makes no sense, as their pitching ranks fourth worst in the major leagues, only behind Oakland, Colorado and Kansas City. But they are winning and San Diego is a disaster again. All the money spent and they don’t win. Bob Melvin is a weekend sweep from getting canned.

I’ll take a run and a half and see what happens.

Pick: Reds (+1.5 Runs, EVEN)

Giants (+135) at Mets

LMAO! The Mets are a freak show and Verlander’s $80 Million makes sugar-daddy Mets owner Steve Cohen the odds on favorite to win schmuck of the year! The Mets find more ways to lose than you can imagine, with their bullpen imploding again last night. I’m fading the Mets this year into oblivion.

Pick: Giants (+135)

Rays (-120) at M’s

The Mariners are another smoke and mirrors bunch. This Rays team is solid all around and they win on the road! I’m going with Tyler Glasnow tonight.

Pick: Rays (-120)
