John Fredericks’ Final Four Picks: Let’s Continue the Madness
Miami Vs UCONN -5.5Â
JOHN FREDERICKS’ FINAL FOUR PICKS: LET’S CONTINUE THE MADNESS – The Hurricanes have had an impressive season and solid run here in the tournament, but their luck comes to an end. You can’t keep coming back down by 13.Â
Connecticut is superior in every way, but especially on the defensive end where they rank 11th in adjusted defensive rating compared to Miami’s 104th ranking.Â
Miami could not miss against Texas and, despite winning that game, they were outplayed for 33 minutes.Â
However, a huge run across a small stretch of that game was the difference. It was a combination of impossible shot making, and awful decisions by the Longhorns. Texas choked!Â
Regression is surely around the corner for this team on the offensive end, and Connecticut has all the tools to magnify that reality.Â
Miami allowed a ton of three-point attempts and that is exactly where the Huskies do a ton of damage ranking in the top-50 in terms of adjusted three point percentage.Â
They also should be able to take advantage on the inside here, which should open up more and more as the game progresses as long as they are able to knock down the outside shot.
 UCONN -5.5Â
FAU Vs. SDSU -2.5
I love the Aztecs defense. FAU lives and dies by the 3-ball. Guess who gives up the lowest trey percentage in the NCAA? Yep- SDSU. This is another 50 point game- will FAU get much in the paint? Nope.Â
This is FAU’s worst possible matchup.Â
