Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Green Bay Packers — In-Season Stats & Betting Trends

The Jaguars dropped five of their first six games, including an embarrassing 35-16 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 6. However, they bounced back with a 32-16 over the New England Patriots to notch their second win of the 2024 campaign. Trevor Lawrence completed 15 of 20 passes for 193 yards, with one touchdown and no picks. Tank Bigsby powered the ground game with 118 yards and two scores on 26 carries. Brian Thomas Jr. finished with five catches for 89 yards and a touchdown. Although they trailed 10-0 in the second quarter, Jacksonville scored 25 consecutive points en route to a 16-point victory, handing the Patriots their sixth straight loss. This marked the first six-game losing streak for the Pats since 1993.

On the other side of this matchup, following a 2-2 start, the Packers have reeled off three straight wins, including a 24-22 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 7.  Thanks in part to three first-half turnovers, Green Bay trailed 19-14 at the break. After taking a 21-19 lead in the third quarter, Green Bay went three-and-out on its next three possessions, allowing the Texans to grab a 22-21 advantage in the final frame. But armed with one timeout and the ball at its 30-yard line, Green Bay made all the right calls on the game’s final possession. After getting the ball to midfield, Love completed a 13-yard pass to Romeo Doubs. Following Houston’s offside penalty, Love and Doubs connected again for a six-yard completion, and the Packers used their final timeout with three ticks left in regulation. Brandon McManus — who the team signed earlier in the week — hit the game-winning field goal in a contest that included seven lead changes.

Green Bay Packers Offense vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Defense

Green Bay is a top-10 team in scoring (7th), yards per game (6th), passing yards per outing (9th), and rushing (5th). Meanwhile, Jacksonville’s defense is suspect at best. This unit is ranked 30th in points allowed, 27th in yards allowed per game, and 31st in passing yards allowed per outing. Given these trends, this could be an easy win for the road team.

Now that we have set the stage for this interconference showdown, let’s examine the betting trends for both sides.

Hey, make sure you check out our picks on the GW Daily Picks page.

  • Jacksonville has covered the spread only twice in their previous six home outings.

  • The projected total for this matchup is 4.7 points higher than the average scoring total for Jacksonville’s games (44.8).

Prediction: UNDER 49.5 points

Player Prop Bet

The key player to watch for the home team is Trevor Lawrence. He currently has -115 odds of exceeding 236.5 rushing yards and -115 odds of finishing with less than 236.5 yards (per DraftKings). Here’s a look at how his numbers stack up against the estimated yards total.

  • During the season, Lawrence is averaging 218.1 yards per game.
  • The Jaguars have played three home games this season. Lawrence has averaged 261.3 yards per outing in those contests.
  • In his lone matchup against an NFC opponent this season, Lawrence threw for 235 yards with two TDs and one interception.
