Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals — In-Season Stats & Betting Trends

Following a 31-29 setback against the Minnesota Vikings on Sep. 29, the Packers have responded with back-to-back victories against the Los Angeles Rams (24-19) and the Arizona Cardinals (34-13). In the blowout win over Arizona, Jordan Love — who completed passes to nine different receivers — threw for 258 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. It was the second time he has tossed four TDs in his last three contests. Green Bay raced out to a 24-0 lead in the second quarter before the Cardinals answered with 13 straight points, including 10 to close out the first half and a field goal in the third quarter, but Arizona would not score again the rest of the way.

“We talked about coming into this game just playing four quarters of complementary football, and thought that was about as good as we could’ve done it,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said via ESPN. “There’s always stuff that we can clean up, but I thought all in all, just the effort from start to finish, the focus from start to finish, was exactly what is a great formula for winning football.”

On the other side of this matchup, the Texans are riding the wave of a three-game winning streak, including an easy 41-21 victory against the New England  Patriots last week. C.J. Stroud finished 20 for 31 for 192 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception. After missing the team’s previous three games with an ankle injury, Joe Mixon spearheaded the ground game with 102 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown. Stefon Diggs caught six passes for 77 yards and a score, while Tank Dell had seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. On the other side of the ball, Houston recorded four sacks and forced turnovers while holding New England to 3 for 13 on third down.

Although the Texans are a middle-of-the-road squad in rushing yards allowed per game, they are third in total yards per outing (277), fourth in passing yards allowed (163.1), and fourth in sacks with 19. Conversely, the Packers’ offense is ranked 10th in passing yards per outing (233.7), fourth in total yards per contest (400.8), and second in rushing yards per game (167.2). It will be interesting to see which unit rises to the occasion in what should be a close game.

Now that we have set the stage for this interconference showdown, let’s examine the betting trends for both sides.
