Riding a six-fight winning streak, Torres has finished his three UFC opponents in the first round as well. He has become one of the more feared prospects on the roster with how quickly he can put people away. There are still question marks about how he does against guys that aren’t so easy to put away and those questions could get answered this weekend.
We’ve heard about the UFC’s foray into The Sphere for months now, but it is finally upon us this weekend. Commemorating Mexican Independence Day, the UFC has put together a stellar card to showcase the best that Mexico has to offer. Outside of the top three fights, the name value falls off a cliff.
It was a very unfortunate circumstance for Ramaska as he was forced out of The Ultimate Fighter going into the semi-finals after he suffered too much damage in the opening bout of the season. Luckily, the UFC has given him another opportunity to make it to the big show. Ramaska is a warrior that loves to throw down and swing leather. His ground game needs some work as he can be taken down and out grappled. However, if he can keep fights in the striking realm, he is more than capable of thriving in chaos.
The UFC took Labor Day weekend off just like the rest of us and return this weekend with a welterweight banger. It seems the theme of the card is “changing of the guard”. The co-main event features a former champion, Jessica Andrade, taking on a rising star in Natalia Silva. Headlining duties fall upon a former title challenger and another rising star.
The co-main event is a strawweight bout between 11th-ranked Tabatha Ricci and ninth-ranked Angela Hill. Ricci is coming off a win against Tecia Pennington in May in a close fight. Hill’s last fight was a win over Luana Pinheiro via submission in May.

After a trip Down Under, the UFC is headed back to the Apex for their final event of August before taking a weekend off. As usual, the UFC relies on either a heavyweight or middleweight main event to anchor the card, this weekend it is the latter. Also on the card will be The Ultimate Fighter 32 Finale bouts. The main business takes place in the main event with a possible passing-of-the-torch matchup.
Carlos Prates is fighting Li Jingliang in the first fight on the main card. “The Leech” has not fought since September 2022, while Prates has knocked out his first two UFC opponents in 2024. He has a seven-inch reach advantage over “The Leech” and should be able to use it effectively. Prates has solid Muay Thai and does a great job of staying out of range of his opponent’s strikes. “The Leech” may struggle to land shots unless he gets inside and could struggle to find a takedown against Prates.
Now 1-2 through his UFC career, Tafa is not meeting the expectations of what his brother has set. Tafa is a striker, but as an MMA fighter seems to have many holes in his game. The big hole seems to be his grappling, as he doesn’t have much of a get up game and his takedown defense is also very poor. You can expect decent power from him, as you can with pretty much all heavyweights, but outside of that, there isn’t much to lean on.
