Mack Brown did not deserve to be pushed out as the UNC coach with a firing announced the week of the game with North Carolina State. He also didn’t deserve to be immediately ousted as the Tar Heels’ coach.
We’ve now reached championship week in college football, and that means it’s time to take a look at who’s going to make it to the College Football Playoff.
Welcome to our NFL coverage here at Godzilla Wins. This week’s matchup features the Minnesota Vikings (9-2) hosting Arizona Cardinals (6-5) at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Here is a look at which team has the edge in this NFC showdown and why.
It’s all or nothing now for Texas A&M. If the Aggies beat their ancient rival Texas, they’ll play Georgia for the SEC title and have a shot at a top-four seed in the playoff. If they fail, their playoff hopes are over.
Oregon’s got no choice: it’s going to be in the Big Ten title game no matter what. The Ducks are the only unbeaten in the nation at this point, and there’s no way they can fall out of the top two in the league.
Does Penn State want the opportunity to go to Indianapolis? The Nittany Lions would be in prime position if Ohio State were to fall short against Michigan, as they have a higher strength of schedule than Indiana.
It’s all there for Ryan Day and Ohio State. Beat the school from up north, and the Buckeyes go to the Big Ten championship game. Lose, and Day might not be around to coach in the first round against someone.
With Tulane botching its shot at the College Football Playoff, Boise State now essentially has its pathway clear. All the Broncos have to do is avoid a bad loss and they will be in the playoff.
It’s Satur…It’s Friday in Athens and the Dawgs take on their in-state rivals in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. With my age and the last decade of dominance for the Bulldogs, this rivalry has lost some of its luster. I have a friend who is a Tech fan who hates UGA more than any other team. Personally, I feel like Don Draper in this rivalry “I don’t think about you at all.” Forgive me if my fellow Dawg fans cannot understand why I consider the rivalries to Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and even Alabama more significant in the last 15 years.
