The Mariners have been one of the worst hitting teams in the majors, batting just .217 as a squad. Seattle has just six wins in July, which has opened the door for the rest of the division to catch them.
The Red Sox actually have a losing record at Fenway Park, offsetting their strong record on the road. If they’re going to make a run at the Yankees and the Orioles, they’ve got to start winning at home.
Are the Phillies starting to feel the pressure? Philadelphia has run away with the NL East, but cracks are starting to appear in what has been a solid team.
Eventually, the Braves are going to run out of games against the junior circuit. And if they don’t figure out how to win in their own league soon, they’re going to be easy prey for the Mets.
So far, so good for San Diego coming out of the All-Star Break. The Padres really needed to get off to a strong start to stay in the playoff race, and they’ve done that.
