Buffalo Bills

The Bills lost to the Texans, 23-20, last week. Ka’imi Fairbairn made a 59-yard field goal to take a three-point lead as time expired for the Texans. Josh Allen only completed nine of 30 passes for 131 yards and a TD.

Running back James Cook (toe) logged a limited practice on Saturday after not practicing all week. He claims he is playing, but we will see closer to game time. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir (ankle) only practiced in a limited fashion on Saturday and remains questionable. Defensive tackle Ed Oliver (hamstring) is out.

New York Jets

The Jets got beat by the Vikings in London last week, 23-17. Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions along with two touchdowns on 54 attempts. One of the interceptions was a pick-six in the first quarter.

Tight end Tyler Conklin (hip) was limited all week and remains questionable. Linebacker C.J. Mosley (toe) was limited all week and is questionable but should be able to play. Cornerback Michael Carter II (back) did not practice all week and will not play.

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets Head-To-Head

The New York Jets’ defense should be much better with C.J. Mosley on the field. They allow 136.6 passing yards per game, which ranks second. They are fourteenth, allowing 119.2 rushing yards per game. Josh Allen will have to be more accurate if the Bills want to have a chance of winning this game. The Bills’ receivers will have trouble getting separation, so Allen must be accurate or make plays with his legs.

The Bills’ defense is not the greatest unit around. They allow 144 rushing yards per game and get beat out of the backfield. Breece Hall will have room to run and could get involved as a pass-catcher. The Bills have allowed at least 50 receiving yards to opposing running backs in four out of five games this season. Breece Hall averages 29.6 receiving yards per game and averages 5.6 targets per game. He should be involved in both aspects of the offense and will be the key matchup to take advantage of the Jets.

Prediction

Over/Under

Both teams are starving for a win and have two high-caliber quarterbacks. I think points are scored in a competitive game. Over 41.5

Spread

The key injuries for the Bills are a scary situation. The Jets are at home and getting points. They are the team to back in this matchup, especially with C.J. Mosley on the field. Jets +1.5

Player Prop

The Bills need Josh Allen to be productive on the ground in this matchup. James Cook is dealing with a toe injury, and even if he does play, he will be affected. Allen has hit this number in three games and must use his legs in this matchup. I like the alt lines up to 50+ yards and anytime TD at +145. Josh Allen Over 32.5 Rushing Yards -115

Trent’s Picks

Over 41.5

Jets +1.5

Josh Allen over 32.5 rushing yard (-115)
