Angels Management Invests Millions In Time Machine—Hopes To Turn The Clock Back To August 1.

The Angels are reportedly investing about $50 million in a new time machine, hoping to turn the clock back to the August 1 MLB trade deadline. Then they could trade Ohtoni for some real value players. Now all they get is a rule 1 draft pick. “If we could only go back to that day, we could have saved the franchise,” grumbled one disgruntled Angels official not authorized to speak to the media. “Now we may have to move the team to Oakland so we don’t get booed. No fans go to those games so its a perfect fit for this miserable club.”

Nice comeback day yesterday, going 3-1 and winning +$210 on the day. This brings us to minus -$430 on the season, and while there are not guarantees in life or baseball, I can feel a monster August-September in the works.

Today is one of those days where you ride the wave. As I have said, you cannot figure out the Cubs or the Giants. I’m not going near either of these teams the rest of the year.

I’m getting bullish on the Rays, who won another walk-off game yesterday.

So here we go:

Angels at Astros (-135)

Hot, Hot, Hot. This Houston club is firing on all cylinders now, and playing like the veteran champions they are. Ride this racehorse into the winners circle. At -135, this is a great value. Urquidy is now ready to roll.

Pick: Houston (-135)

Oakland (+130) at Nationals

Yep, I’m betting the A’s for the second time this season! So far I’m 1-0. Actually, Oakland has been playing competitive baseball of late and they actually have some exciting young pitchers.

Ken Waldichuk gets the ball for Oakland today, and he has been pitching much better of late. He’s allowed just six earned runs in his last three starts over 14.1 innings. It’s even more eye-opening  when you factor in the strength of schedule he’s faced in that time span: San Fran, Texas, Dodgers.

Washington’s Williams has allowed at least one dinger in seven of his last eight games. The A’s steal one in D.C.

Pick: A’s (+130)

Yankees (-125) at Marlins

I don’t need no stinkin’ metrics! When I can get Gerrit Cole at -125 against a .500 team I’m in. As bad as the Bronx Bombers have been, they are still only four games back of the wild card.

Pick: Yanks (-125)
