A.J. Hinch To Houston: Bang This!

A.J. Hinch To Houston: Go Bang A Trash Can

A.J. Hinch, former Houston Astros manager who now manages the hapless Detroit Tigers, told his former team to grab a trash can and get ready to get swept.

“I’m buying a broom,” Hinch said.

Hinch, whose Tigers club is in third place in the A.L. Central was unceremoniously canned by Astros owner Jim Crain when the cheating scandal broke in late 2019.

The Tigers skipper earned a world series ring with Houston in 2017, and will likely never see a post-season game with the Tigers at the rate they are going.

“My team is 7.5 games out of the worst division in the history of MLB,” Hinch admitted. “We all suck here but I’m out to screw the Astros out a playoff post. And by the way, you can tell Crane to stick it where the sun don’t shine. This broom stick will do just fine up his.”

Astros (-170) at Tigers

I love betting teams the next day after getting embarrassed 17-1. I love betting pitchers like Framber Valdez who hasn’t gone five innings since a no-hitter. I love laying 170-100 on teams that have underperformed at 2-5 in the last seven games.

Pick: Astros (-170)

Yankees at Rays (-130)

Wow. Gerrit Cole is an underdog for the first time this season. You know why?

The resurgent Rays Zach Eflin has an ERA of 3.05 at home this season with opponents hitting .223 against him and he has an ERA of 2.67 in night games this season. I love Eflin at night! Moon-beam Zach!

The Yankees have lost 11 of their last 12 games. Juggernaut!

How about this Yankees offensive uprising: the Bronx Bummers are averaging just 3.4 runs per game over their last seven games hitting .201.

We have two teams headed in opposite directions and Gerrit Cole was lit up in his last outing giving up six earned runs and seven hits including two doctor long-balls at home Vs. Boston in four innings.

Pick: Rays (-130)

Cards at Phillies (-130)

This is crunch time for Philadelphia at home. St. Louis is playing out the string. Miles Mikolas got hammered for seven runs his last time out and now he faces the Phillies at the Vet. See ya, Miles. It’s Philly cheese steaks on the house!

Pick: Phillies (-130)

Cubs (-120) at Pirates

This is a value play. I’ll take the better team on the road at -120 battling for a playoff spot playing a team waiting for the links to open tomorrow morning.

Both pitchers have been crushed at times this year, but the Cubs are 7-0 against the Pirates this season. Make it 8-0 after tonight.

Pick: Cubs (-120)

Cleveland at Toronto (-160)

This is simple: I’m betting the Jays down the stretch. No more analysis needed, sorry.

Pick: Jays (-160)
